FROM TRACK AND FIELD SCHOLAR TO ORTHOPAEDIC EXPERT

After completing his first degree in Exercise Physiology and Biomechanics, Dr Liddell was awarded a Track and Field scholarship to study and compete in the Southland Conference in the United States. He then went on to complete his medical studies at the University of Queensland, where he received dual University Blues for national representation in distance running.

In 2012, Dr Liddell was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and the Australian Orthopaedic Association and went on to complete a fellowship in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy at McGill University in Montreal. During his fellowship, Dr Liddell worked closely with elite athletes from multiple professional sports leagues and published research papers on ACL reconstruction procedures.

Dr Liddell has published many articles and has presented at numerous national and international meetings on the topics of orthopaedic sports medicine and knee surgery. He also teaches both medical students and orthopaedic trainees at Sir Charles Gardiner Hospital, Nedlands.
